Lonnie's
Biography
Lonnie Hill, born in Alabama on April 14, and now
lives near Nashville, Tennesse. Lonnie Co-wrote his first song Merry-go-round of Love in November 2003. After he left
the Recording Studio, the next day WAKM Radio Played it on their show in Franklin Tennesse. Soon there were many request for
them to play it more and the same happened with other radio stations around Tennessee, then finally Abroad. Since then,
Lonnie has written several more songs which include: “Desire”, “When I Think of You”, “Life’s
Reality”, “Give Back My Heart,” "Our Love is {Eternity}", and his most recent and much talked about from
fans and radios stations everywhere, "Love is in the Air."
Country music has been Lonnie's passion all of his life.
He formed his own band called the Dixie Heart Beats. It didn’t take much to make them happy, as long as people were
listening. There were times that they would play in front of an old country store! Lonnie joined "The Dave Osburn
band" playing steel, but he always knew what he really wanted was to play his guitar, write and sing the country songs that
he so passionately dreamed of in Nashville, TN! So he and his family moved there and he worked a daytime job and played
as much as he could at night.
His family and friends encouraged him to record his first song
“Merry-Go-Round of Love”, and with the help of Fred Newell, Roy Voght, a drummer and a female vocalist it all
fell into place. The next day, Lonnie’s wife took the recorded song to Darrell Williams of WAKM radio in Franklin.
He played it on the air and soon there were many requests for it. Later the song was taken to other radio stations and
it got the same response. He made a CD with the song during the Christmas holidays, with half the proceeds from its
sale went to the American Red Cross.
Lonnie has recorded songs like “Young Love”, “It’s
Such a Pretty World Today”, “According to My Heart” and Elvis songs that include “That’s
Alright”, “Mamma”, “Don’t be Cruel”, “Teddy Bear” and many more.
Lonnie now has a new CD out called; "Love Songs & Heartaches."
See the "My Music page or Contact page for purchasing information.
Lonnie wants to thank his family and friends for being so supportive.
A special thanks goes to Darrell Williams at WAKM for taking a chance on his song. He has been very inspiring.
